EKB Named Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador by NOAA

PIKEVILLE, KY - East Kentucky Broadcasting has been named a National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador.

The Weather-Ready National Ambassador initiative is an effort to formally recognize NOAA partners who are improving the nation's readiness against extreme weather, water, and climate events. As a Weather-Ready Nation Ambassador, EKB is committing to work with NOAA and other Ambassadors to strengthen national resilience against extreme weather.

East Kentucky Broadcasting is one of very few ambassadors in the state and one of the first in the region.

To achieve WRN Ambassador status, EKB was required to submit an application detailing our commitment to perform the following actions:

• Promote Weather-Ready Nation messages

• Engage with National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) personnel on potential collaboration opportunities

• Share success stores of preparedness and resiliency

• Serve as an example by educating employees on workplace preparedness and encouraging personal preparedness at home.
